Indian leather goods enter Australia at 0% duty — and from 1 January 2026 every Australian tariff line is duty-free for Indian exports.
The Hide Leather is a wholesale and private-label leather goods manufacturer in Kanpur, India. Australia and New Zealand are established markets for us — we already ship to both, and most of our customers reorder. You buy direct from the factory, with the Certificate of Origin your goods need to clear customs at the preferential rate.

Indian leather lands in Australia at zero duty
Leather goods of Indian origin have entered Australia at 0% duty under the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement since 29 December 2022. From 1 January 2026, 100% of Australian tariff lines are zero-duty for Indian exports. To claim the preferential rate your shipment needs a valid Certificate of Origin, which we issue with every consignment.
New Zealand: we already ship to NZ buyers. India and New Zealand do not yet have a trade agreement in force, so standard NZ tariffs apply — we supply full origin and classification documentation with every consignment.

Made to your design
Your brand, made in our factory
Send a tech pack, a sketch or a sample to match. We produce a first sample to your specification, revise it until it is right, then run production under your brand. Our name appears nowhere on the product, and we provide an NDA on request. The sample cost is deducted in full from your first order.
Australian biosecurity. Australia applies biosecurity conditions to goods of animal origin. Confirm current import requirements with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry for your specific product before your first shipment, and we will supply whatever documentation your customs broker asks for.

Do I pay duty on Indian leather goods into Australia?

Do you already ship to Australia and New Zealand?

What is your minimum order?
Between 12 and 100 units per design, depending on category. Belts are 24 pieces as a size run of three each, waist 30 to 44 inches.
