The Hide Leather is a leather goods manufacturer in Kanpur, India, producing bags, small leather goods, diaries and corporate gifts to customer designs. You can send a full tech pack, a rough sketch, a photograph, or a physical product you want matched. We quote, sample, revise and manufacture in the same building — so you deal with the factory, not an agent placing your order somewhere else.

Target cost
Your target landed cost, if you have one. It decides which leather grade we quote against.
Minimum order quantities
Low minimums, real production
MOQs are per design, and colours of the same design can be combined. There is no ceiling — we produce 5,000 to 10,000 pieces or kits inside 30 days when a programme calls for it.

Sold as a size run of three pieces each, waist 30 to 44 inches.

Buffalo, cow, goat, suede, nappa and vegetable-tanned — premium and high grades only.

Sourcing
Finished leather from established Kanpur tanneries, and from Chennai and Kolkata where a product calls for it.
Certification documentation is required from every supplier before purchase, and every batch is inspected in-house on arrival.

Where we are the right factory
A good fit
Runs from 12 to 10,000 units per design. Leather bags, small leather goods, diaries and gifting. Full-grain and vegetable-tanned leather, hand-finished detail, and brands who want to talk to the factory directly.
Not a fit
Single-piece bespoke commissions and synthetic-only construction. We will tell you when a project is not for us rather than take the order anyway — easier for us than for a trading house, because we are not placing your order elsewhere regardless.
Your brand, and only your brand. We provide an NDA on request. On white label and private label orders, your logo, labels and packaging are the only branding used — our name appears nowhere on the product or in the box.
The margin most suppliers miss
Duty-free where it counts
Goods made here enter the United Kingdom at 0% duty under the India-UK CETA, in effect since 15 July 2026 and previously as high as 16%, and Australia at 0% under the India-Australia ECTA. Chinese-origin goods qualify for neither.
We issue the Certificate of Origin you need to claim both.

What is the minimum order?
15 per design for bags and laptop bags, 12 pairs for footwear, 50 for wallets, journals, coasters and phone holsters, 100 for card holders and sunglasses cases, and 24 for belts as a three-piece size run. Corporate kits start at 50. There is no ceiling — we deliver 5,000 to 10,000 pieces inside 30 days when needed.
Can you work from a sample instead of a tech pack?
Yes. Send a sketch, a photograph or a physical product to match and we develop the pattern from it, then sample to your approval.
How does sampling work, and what does it cost?
We make a paid first sample to your spec and revise it until it is right. The sample cost is deducted in full from your first production order.
Will my design stay confidential?
Yes. We provide an NDA on request and do not show your product to other buyers. On private label orders only your branding appears.
Do the goods land duty-free in the UK and Australia?
Yes. Indian-made leather goods enter both markets at 0% duty, and we provide the Certificate of Origin to claim the preferential rate.
